Job Overview

As an expert Inventory Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be working in a Data Center with a team of Technical Operations Managers in collaboration with Data Center Hardware Technicians. The Inventory Quality Assurance Specialist will interface daily with the team and customer stakeholders (Customer Operations Manager and Engagement Manager) spread across four US geographical locations. Your primary focus will concentrate on supporting inventory cycle audit, data corrections, DC regulatory compliance or certification control support, information management within the inventory management system, and related activities. This role will be required to provide prompt and concise communication with Operations Management regularly. As an expert in Data Center Logistics, you are expected to possess advanced knowledge and experience working in Data Centers, with inventory, logistics, and related knowledge.

Work Environment

The Inventory Quality Assurance Specialist will be expected to lift equipment of up to 50 pounds daily. They must also work well with teams and tight deadlines. This person will sit within a data center. Although this person will be working in concert with teams across multiple facilities, they must be comfortable working independently. It is critical that this person is very organized and can work in a quickly changing, fast-paced environment.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate logical information within various inventory management systems (e.g., configuration management databases, and asset management repositories).

  • Support evaluation and recommend improvements to workstream processes, services, and procedures as required.

  • Coordinate physical access for new employees and vendors.

  • Document and provide management of Third-Party provider support (OEMs, suppliers, etc.) to facilitate inventory deliveries.

  • Track and report failure rates of inventory parts.

  • Support client recycling efforts.

  • Support the creation of inventory and logistics processes, procedures, and training material in collaboration with Penguin stakeholders and the end customer.

  • Support the RMA and inventory recycling process as required.

  • Perform other tasks as directed by management

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • Minimum 3 years in a related IT or Procurement coordinator role

  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in a warehouse, distribution center, or data center tracking and storing inventory as received.

  • Baseline understanding of server troubleshooting

  • Experience with IT Asset Control

  • Minimum 3 years participating in audit activities

  • Experience using an ITSM tool

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • Knowledge of computer applications preferably with Slack, Teams, Jira, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office Products

  • Experience handling sensitive technical components

  • Able to mentor and train others

  • Extremely detail oriented and well organized

  • Self-starter and can work with ambiguity

  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize in an extremely high volume and fast paced work environment with constant interruption

  • Ability to work within cross-functional teams

  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects in an efficient and timely manner

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven problem-solving skills to develop solutions to improve overall efficiency and overcome inventory problems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience

  • Certifications in technology specific areas, networking, or management preferred

Compensation

Estimated Pay Range: Exact compensation and offers of employment are dependent on circumstances of each case and will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, licenses or certifications, and location.
