Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) has an opportunity for a Senior Speech Language Pathologist at Jacobi Medical Center/North Central Bronx Hospital. The Hospitals are part of theNYC Health + Hospitals System (NYCHHC). Jacobi is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and NCB has 213 licensed beds. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Albert Einstein Medical College to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards.

Responsibilities
    The Speech & Language Pathologist assesses/evaluates, plans, implements, and provides individual patient care according to professional standards and departmental policies and procedures for swallowing, speech, language, voice and cognitive-linguistic impairments
  • Adult inpatient/outpatient and pediatric inpatient/outpatient consultation and treatment service
  • Acute care, acute rehab and Outpatients all serviced

Preferred experience/background knowledge in the following areas:

  • Support for neonatal feeding and swallowing (NICU)
  • Head and Neck Clinic, voice, and swallowing disorders in collaboration with ENT
  • Stroke Center support
  • Tracheotomy and ventilator care
Qualifications
  • MBSS and/or FEES experience preferred
  • Master's Degree related to communication disorders for Speech & Language Pathology from an accredited academic program
  • Successful completion of a clinical fellowship (CF)
  • Achieved Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech- Language and Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Maintains active New York State licensure in Speech Language Pathology
  • At least 3 years of professional experience within the last five years in the medical setting of Speech-Language Pathology.
