The Staff Nurse functions as part of the clinic leadership team, performs task and carries out responsibilities within the framework of health teaching, health counseling and supportive / restorative care. These duties are performed under the supervision of the Head Nurse / staff. The Staff Nurse will be required to perform the duties listed below and other duties involving the same type, area and degree of responsibility.

Responsibilities:
* Pursuant to objectives and policies of the Program, provides nursing care / activities as assigned by Head Nurse / designee, and in support of medical care as directed by the Physician
* Assume all responsibilities of RN / LPN as outlined in each job description
* Demonstrate accountability to care, plan, and coordinate to ensure that continuity is provided
* Dispense and administer prescribed medication and treatment and observe patients for any reaction to medication
* Record and report significant patient incidents / problems to Head Nurse Administrator, Chief Physician
* Knowledge of the principles of confidentiality of patient information
* Develop effective communications within the clinical units
* Conduct and participate in patient educational activities
* Maintain all pertinent clinical records
* May be assigned rotation to other program sites
* Clinic activities may vary depending on clinic needs and activities

Qualifications:
* Must have New York State license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse or valid permit to practice in New York State
* High School Diploma / GED required, BSN Degree preferred
* Basic Life Support training
* Infection Control training
* Certification in specialty preferred
* Effective English communication skills, both written and oral
* Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval systems

The hours for this position are 10:00am-6:30pm Mon-Fri and 6:30am-3pm on alternating Saturdays. This is a float position and requires flexibility to work at all Wellness Center locations and various shifts as needed.
