Job Overview:

The Dishwasher/Utility Worker at our hospital plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our food services. This position is responsible for ensuring that all kitchen tools and environments are clean, sanitized, and ready for use. This role is vital to the smooth operation of our food services, contributing to the health and well-being of our patients and staff.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Successful completion of general and department specific orientation
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects

Preferred:

  • Certification in food service sanitation
  • Experience operating industrial dishwashing equipment
  • Familiarity with hospital health and safety standards
  • Bilingual

Scheduling Requirements:

  • This is a full-time position with a shift from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • The days of work will be discussed during the interview process.
  • Some weekends and holiday availability are required.

Essential Functions:

  • Operate the industrial dishwasher in a safe and efficient manner
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
  • Assist with other duties as needed, such as taking out the trash, mopping floors, and restocking items.
