How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The HSES team is a global and international team including 30 teammates based in the different production sites of ALAM and at the headquarter based in Branchburg. The working language between us is the English/American language.
In Branchburg, you will work in the headquarters, with the Global HSES team (US Process Safety, Environmental and Regulatory affairs, Product Stewardship) and close to 3 production sites based in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The R&D Department is based in our site of Branchburg and you will work closely with them as well. Thus, joining us will also be the opportunity to connect with a lot of different activities.
Your direct report is the Global HSES director, based in Branchburg.

The position:

This role has the responsibility to refurbish and improve the efficiency of the whole HSES training system providing HSES knowledge and competencies to all ALAM execution departments. This role will also be in charge of transferring the scientific knowledge collected through the chemistry deep-dive initiative to the employees. To do so, the role will interact with all the Execution and Technology departments within ALAM. The HSES training strategy aims to ensure employees receive the necessary training to operate safely in all circumstances in their roles. The HSES training strategy should also foster a culture of continuous HSES learning and development throughout the organization.

The role requires a highly motivated, self disciplined, people oriented person. This person will provide leadership and hands on support in organizing, developing, implementing, improving HSES training.

Expected deliverable along the mission:

  • after 6 months:

    • The needs of HSES training for all the employees have been confirmed with HSES managers and the stakeholders and the related HSES training journey for each function has been reviewed, clarified, formalized;

    • The specifications are defined for a training system in which the global protocols for administration of training requirements (from the training setting to the training completion record and training metrics) are as much as possible automatized and the remaining human actions are performed at the right level;

    • All potential training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in-class training, e-learning, workshops, simulations, VR, etc) have been explored to identify potential new methods increasing the efficiency of our training methods;

    • Based on the available methods, an HSES training strategy is defined.

  • after 18 months:

    • A system is designed to monitor the HSES training program's effectiveness;

    • The training system is set up and operational, it holds individuals accountable to complete required training and escalates issues for resolution.

    • All the HSES training packages have been designed (new ones) or redesigned (existing ones) in accordance with the training approach that has been chosen in the training strategy.

    • The HSES training packages include the chemistry deep dive knowledge transfer;

    • The overall and individualized training and development plan implementing the HSES training strategy is established.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Occupational Safety or training;

  • 2+ years of in the field experience applicable to HSES.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and/or experience in Training modules design;

  • Train the trainers qualification.

  • Passion for HSES as demonstrated by a strong commitment;
    Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc);

  • Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency and a strong writing ability

  • Good knowledge with management systems structure and operation.

  • Excellent working knowledge of Google tools (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides, Drive);

  • Able to learn technical chemical processes quickly;

  • Very high attention to detail and ability to recognize and act upon deviations;

  • Strong organizational skills.
