Position Summary:
Under supervision and direction from the Director of Employer Relations, conducts employer development activity and manages the execution of on-campus recruitment programs such as on-campus interviewing (OCI) and information sessions for students, alumni, and employers.

Essential Functions:
Employer Relations

- Work with the Director and other employer relations team members to identify and reach new employer prospects with the goal of providing highly competitive opportunities to all NJIT students.
- Regularly meet with new employer prospects, providing an overview of NJIT recruiting options and assisting them in developing their on-campus recruitment strategies with particular interests in increasing OCI participation.
- Retain the existing base of recruiting employers through the delivery of excellent customer service and continued follow-up.
- Facilitate the referral of students and/or alumni to organizations for career opportunities, cooperative education, internships, and other experiential learning programs.
- As a part of the Employer Relations team, utilize the Handshake platform to maintain employer job postings, contact records, and relationship notes.

On-Campus Interviewing (OCI) Management

Manage scheduling of designated company representatives for the purpose of interviewing students and alumni at NJIT's campus.
- Oversee all arrangements to ensure a high level of customer service and a seamless experience for our employer partners.
- Communicate regularly with participating employers to ensure adherence to selection and scheduling deadlines.
- Promote the OCI program to new and returning employers to continue to offer a robust and convenient interviewing program for NJIT students seeking internship, co-op, and full-time jobs.

Information Session / Recruitment Event Management

Facilitate numerous company information sessions and special recruiting/engagement events on campus (such as tech talks, tabling, and employer-led workshops), overseeing all event logistics.
- Advise employers on how to structure and market effective and engaging presentations based on past successes and the interests of our students.
- Collaborate with academic departments and student groups to co-host company information sessions and recruiting events based on the interests of the employer.

Student Coordination
- Provide ad hoc advising and coaching to students on resume writing, job search, and interview preparation.
- Facilitate student workshops to promote the On-Campus Interviewing program, inform students of the guidelines for participation, and prepare them to be successful in interviews.
- Enforce the OCI guidelines, ensuring that students are properly prepared and attend all scheduled interviews. Intervene when students do not follow OCI policies or do not perform well in interviews, collaborating with the CDS Student Success Team in cases where students need additional interview coaching.
- Establish relationships with student professional organizations with the goal of collaborating on employer engagement events.
- Oversee the promotion of both on-campus interviews and information sessions to students, to ensure adequate attendance numbers for our employer partners.

Additional Functions:

Collaborate with the Career Development Services (CDS) Technology team to maintain accurate records and information in Handshake and on the CDS website.
- Assist in the execution of office-wide events such as Career Fairs and Networking Events.
- Occasionally facilitate and participate in student visits to employer sites, overseeing logistics and adhering to NJIT policies.
- Periodically request hiring outcomes from employers and reinforce the importance of sharing this crucial employment data through the CDS office.
- Occasionally staff evening or weekend events as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
- Three years of experience in a career services organization or in a corporate campus recruiting or university relations function preferred.
- Employer relations, campus recruiting, and/or student career advising experience.
- Experience with Career Center technology, such as Handshake, preferred.
- Proficiency in social media, particularly LinkedIn.
- Computer proficiency in a Windows and MS Office Professional Suite environment.
- Strong organizational, oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Preferred Qualifications:
-
Master's degree.
- Experience working with students, faculty, staff, alumni, administrators, and employers with minimal direct supervision.
