The Role
Atlas Copco is looking for a QC Technician to be responsible for Torque Validation / Calibration activities of Atlas Copco's handheld power tools, torque wrenches, and fixtured tooling onsite at our customer, BMW. As a QC Technician, You will be responsible for setup and verifying the tools are within target torque range, completing the appropriate protocols when a tool is found to be out of specification and working directly with the customer when needed. You will maintain an understanding and practice of the continuous improvement principals & lean manufacturing. Also, you will perform Static Route Validation checks on joints per customer needs.
You will report to the Site Manager and report daily onsite at our customer's, BMW, Greer, South Carolina facility. You may be required to travel up to 5% nationally for training purposes. The schedule for this position is 4 10-hour days on B-Shift (7:30pm-6:10am). The pay is $24.00 per hour and a full benefits package is offered.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Provide technical knowledge levels acceptable to requirements of the customer's contract
* Communicate directly with the customer
* Perform line walks to ensure things are running smoothly and identify troubleshooting opportunities
* Ensure 100% accuracy of the torque programs, including angle measurements and speeds
* Maintain the legal document retention standards for data collection
* Set up error proofing strategies for any fastener put under containment
What We Expect From You?
Experience in calibrations and assembly tooling
At least two years of customer service experience and a interactive personality
Mechanical aptitude
At least one year of Troubleshooting experience
IT experience with Windows-based computer systems, and networking or databases
Ability lift up to 65 lbs
