  • Develops, designs, evaluates, modifies and manages systems consistent with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsibilities include optimization and support of complex communication systems for New York's Public Safety Radio Systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and support of specialized systems and product applications including troubleshooting of software-driven electronics, provisioning of communication system infrastructure, and performance optimization of RF and Broadband architecture including, but not limited to, legacy analog, advanced digital P25, and data infrastructure.
  • Program, configure, optimize, test, and document complex communications systems.
  • Resolve escalated technical issues with speed and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve technical concerns.
  • Provide weekly reports of activities and resolutions to customers.
  • Deliver a very strong knowledge of wired communications systems, such as local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN), must be proficient in computer network installation, configuration, and maintenance systems including cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, and bridges.
  • Solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations

Candidate Requirements

  • Knowledge of R.F. systems, such as transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks
  • Knowledge in standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, as well as, knowledge of packet-switching techniques
  • Highly computer literate with proficiency in the Google suite of products, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
  • Strong self-management skills and "people" skills to work closely with Motorola's customers and subcontractor (MSS) community, as well as Motorola Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Customer Service teams
  • Self-motivated and self-managed to perform the required duties at a distance from direct supervision
  • Ability to direct scheduling, task assignments, and training roadmap for a small team of local field service technicians
  • Experience with logging recording systems, RF interfaces, wired/wireless communications systems, and/or Juniper networking equipment
  • Unique combinations of both multi-site RF communications systems and/or computer/networking skills are required.
  • Available and willing to handle after-hours or occasional customer and/or system incident escalation management during non-standard business hours.
  • Manage, schedule, track, and develop reports on network infrastructure upgrades, system performance, preventive maintenance, incident management, SLA, and customer escalations.
  • Responsible for delivering the contractual scope, on schedule and within budget, while maintaining customer satisfaction.

The Senior System Manager MUST live within a commutable distance to the 5 boroughs of New York City.

Projected Salary Range - $100K - $115K

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.
