Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding two (2) Anesthesiologists to the group at South Brooklyn Health. The Hospital is part of theNYC Health + Hospitals System (NYCHHC). South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11-floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital which provides emergency care, modern labor & delivery suites, and state-of-the-art surgical services. The new Health & Wellness Institute offers outpatient services-from primary and preventive care to specialty services for children and adults-all designed to keep our community healthy and accommodates more than 250,000 outpatient visits, more than 89,000 emergency room visits, and with 371 beds, more than 15,000 inpatient admissions annually.

The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Medical Center and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine in order to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities

Our Department is currently comprised of 15 staff Anesthesiologists and CRNAs with approximately 4,500 surgeries per year, 7 operating rooms and 4 GI suites. Vast majority of cases are bread and butter -

OB coverage (1,400 deliveries/year) for those who prefer, occasional thoracic cases (1-2 cases/month total) and some pediatrics (no elective neonates, vast majority of peds are health 4-6 yr old dental cases) and no trauma cases! Solo + CRNA supervision with the CRNA Supervision Ratio: mostly 2:1, sometimes 3:1.

We practice an expanded Anesthesia Care model, taking a leadership role in navigating perioperative process, in close friendly collaboration with surgeons and nursing staff and is armed with all required modern equipment for the safest practice of Anesthesia which includes Video-Laryngoscopy, 2 SonoSite Ultrasound Machines for Vascular Cannulation and Regional Anesthesia, 2 Ambu FOB Systems with disposal scopes used in Thoracic Anesthesia and Difficult Airway management, FloTrack System for intraoperative hemodynamic management, AccuView vein finding system, and much more.

The Department of Anesthesiology is a great group of purpose-driven collaborators and friends, supporting each other and contributing to making South Brooklyn Health a premier surgical center in Brooklyn. South Brooklyn Health has recently opened the Ruth Bader Ginsberg hospital, featuring eight state-of-the-art operating rooms.

We are implementing a FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE This will allow for a 3-4 day workweek (full-time) and we are also starting an Anesthesia Residency Program!

  • Annual Base Salary Range: $390,000 (board eligible) - $400,000 (board certified) with more earning potential based on additional coverage outside the 40 hours per week and potential bonuses
