Job Description
SUMMARY
Cross functional team member working in a foundry on a paced, sand mold assembly line.

The selected candidate will be offered a pay rate based on prior industrial experience, but not less than $20.80/hour to start.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Setup equipment and tools
  • Read, understand and follow process information
  • Operate different machinery at each station on sand mold line
    • Kit and assemble mold making components
    • Create sand mold by directing sand from a mixer into pattern boxes
    • Prepare sand molds by sanding, painting and assembling components
    • Coordinate the removal of sand mold from the line
  • Perform housekeeping and cleanup tasks on the assembly line
  • Being engaged and having the desire to improve the process

Critical Competencies

  • Ability to read and follow process instructions
  • Use basic hand tools and lifting devices like a hoist or crane
  • Ability to learn multiple roles and skills
  • Basic math skills and basic measurement skills
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Operation of a large material handling fork lift truck
  • Positive team orientation

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Physical Demand and Work Environment:

Work environmentincludes regular exposure to noise levels at or above 85 decibels, dust particles, and weather changes. Some work stations require use of a respirator. The material handling route is indoor and outdoor. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required to be worn during shift. Work schedule has a standard start time and flexible end times.

Physical requirementsinclude lifting up to 70lbs, need to see details at a close range, standing for long periods of time, good hand and finger dexterity, and ability to bend, twist, reach and walk.
