UNM Lock Shop is searching for a qualified individual to join our team as a Certified Locksmith. The qualified candidate will be certified to provide services to the UNM community by installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical locks. The work will also include cutting new or duplicate keys, maintaining master key files and records associated with all keys distributed. In addition, the successful candidate will be able to estimate scope and the cost of projects in consultation with the customer. As the Certified Locksmith, there will be the expectation to maintain inventory of supplies and parts within the Lock Shop.
High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Certification/Licensure: Certified Registered Locksmith (CRL) by Associated Locksmiths of America or completed Door & Hardware Technician (DHT) credential by the Door and Hardware Institute.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
