How does this role contribute to our collective success?

Data and analytics are of critical importance for AXIS. Simply put, we want to turn data into information, that can be used to:

  • Enable decisions to be made with confidence, based on information not just intuition.
  • Be more proactive, using information to identify new opportunities, and getting to them before our competitors.
  • Realize cost savings, finding ways to make processes more efficient, enabling our people to focus on using their skills to further add business value.

The Innovation & Analytics team is a core component of AXIS's strategy, with the potential to transform the way in which we do business and enable us to effectively leverage data and technology to our competitive advantage. The central mandate is to horizon-scan, prototype and implement innovative solutions to business problems.

What will you do in this role?

As one of our Analytics & Innovation Leads, you will act as the key partner for our financial and professional lines division. You will be tasked with building strong relationships with relevant underwriting and support functions, identifying business problems, formulating solutions, and effectively delivering on relevant company priorities. In addition, you will take on strategic responsibility for particular strategic company objectives as they arise.

  • Building strong relationships with underwriting management and relevant support functions to identify and define business problems, undertaking R&D to prototype analytical or innovative solutions to these.
  • Developing business cases for proposed projects or process changes, estimating and clearly articulating costs and benefits.
  • Working closely with Underwriting, Technology, Data & Analytics, Pricing, Exposure management and other supporting functions to successfully incorporate solutions into existing business processes or to redesign processes as necessary.
  • Contributing effectively to headline strategic initiatives - including Gen AI, Underwriting Insights, and Customer Centricity - representing the needs and priorities of your assigned business partners to help drive projects to success.
  • Providing insight to the balance between tactical solutions that provide more immediate value versus strategic implementations that may take longer to implement but provide better business value in the long run.
  • Closely monitoring the external environment, and being a thought leader on new opportunities, tools, techniques, and technologies.
  • Collaborating closely with Operations, Technology and Distribution to ensure appropriate connections are made and to manage project clash.
