Job Summary

The HSE Supervisor assists in the overall supervision and administration of project safety, accountability, accident, and fire protection programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Essential Functions
  • Actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values."
  • Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics."
  • Assist in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through interface with project management and supervisory personnel via routine site visits.
  • Assist in the supervision and administration of safety, first aid, and rescue squad activities. Assume total responsibility for safety operations when assigned to shift work.
  • Participate in developing and conducting staff and craft safety orientation training programs.
  • Develop and distribute safety meeting topics for review with field employees.
  • Participate/attend client-required meetings as required.
  • Preparing site-specific safety plans and hazard analysis.
  • Conduct work area surveillance inspections, and air-sampling tests for confined space entry, property damage, and personal injury investigations.
  • Document all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions and activities. Issue confined area entry and "hot work" permits as required.
  • Accompany safety, health, and insurance inspections on walk-through tours as required.
  • Review safety-related journals, catalogs, etc. to keep abreast of changes or improvements in protective safety equipment, materials, and gear.
  • Issues direction to all site Safety Representatives where applicable.
  • Perform additional assignments per the manager's direction.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational/ environmental safety and health management, or equivalent combination of education/experience in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years of safety experience as an individual contributor in construction or industrial facility or equivalent background, plus 1 - 3 years of previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.
    • Construction/Maintenance of electrical components and/or facilities (i.e., Substations) preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge and ability to enforce all federal state, local, and company safety regulations required.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures essential.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills are also required.
