Position Summary:

Coordinates clinical activities of the Inpatient Wound Care Program which include but aren't limited to utilization of skills in organization, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing care through use of hospital and nursing standards.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
  • Graduate of a Program in Discipline - Required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Required Skills:
Must be able to work independently.
Addresses wound care consults timely.
Ability to teach staff on wound care, staging, & documentation
Professionally interact with patients
Ability to teach patients how to manage their wound care.
Facilitates Pressure Injury monthly meeting.
Accurately assesses patient skin integrity.
Prevent skin breakdown in hospitalized patients.
Accurately stage and assess wounds.
Microsoft office skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Required Skills:
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 6 months.
Required Licenses:
Current licensure by WV State Board of Nursing.
Minimum Work Experience:
Wound Care Certification preferred.
Two years of experience in wound, ostomy and continence care required per Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Certification Board.
Required Skills:
One to two years related experience and/or training preferred.
