Posting Summary | The Rutgers Infrastructure Monitoring and Evaluation (RIME) Group has been developing expertise in the application of the Finite Element (FE) analysis for the bridge coupled with the Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), Weigh-In-Motion (WIM), and full-scale testing over the past decades. We are now seeking highly qualified candidates to synthesize the research projects conducted to date and work toward extending these results to practical testing and analysis procedures that bridge owners and managers can adopt as part of their more effective preservation strategies. Minimum Education and Experience | The ideal candidate(s) will possess a PhD degree (post-doctoral associate/fellow) or Master degree (PhD student) in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering with a background in multiple research areas emphasizing FE analysis using commercial software packages including LS-DYNA (highly desirable), Abaqus, etc. Experience in LS-DYNA is highly desirable, and actual crash testing per MASH 2016 at the testing facility, or similar, is suggested. The preferred candidate(s) will possess a willingness to work on research projects in a fast-paced multi-institutional role different from theoretical research projects, excellent documentation and communication skills, and a strong team-oriented attitude with the ability to establish work priorities. |
